In order to establish an energy performance contract, it is necessary to establish an upstream audit based on the IPMVP method.

A complete and reliable audit of the building may cause additionnal costs but is an essential prerequisite to the conclusion of an Energy Performance Contract .

Upstream heritage audit is a study mission to describe the building: envelope, technical equipment and operation. It shows in particular energy consumption and should be based on the IPMVP method. The audit can provide relevant data to establish the baseline of the CPE and verify its performance over time.

The additional diagnosis is the responsibility of the candidates who will have to commit to performance, in addition to relevant means of achieving such performance.

According to the relevant markets (Public or Private) , procedures will differ , they will also be adapted to the types of projects and their size.

Measurement & Verification is at the heart of all types of Energy Performance Contract. This is the basis of any commitment to results, and it is the only way to permanently validate the contractual performance.

Methods of measurement and verification of energy enable you to:

 

– Identify the real impact of energy saving actions.

– Assist the client in his decision, he knows where and how to operate.

– Ensure objective data for the customer and the operator .

– Reduce the economic and legal risks associated with the contract and to facilitate its monitoring.

 

Improving the Energy Efficiency ( AAEE ) Actions which provide a gain measurement, in most cases , is complex. Indeed, that may immediately , explain the reasons for which an annual energy consumption curve takes a particular form ?

Ensuring improved energy efficiency requires to understand and integrate the causes of these variations, so that the after-work results can be validly compared. It is impossible to directly measure a lack of consumption in a variable context.

Plans for measurement and verification are enforceable and auditable. IFS2E, with its expertise and experience in numerous projects, offers audits in M &V plans. The audit of M & V Plan that is offered is based on construction supervisors’, prime contractors’ or service companies ‘specifications, either for upstream or downstream projects in the implementation or operation.

IFS2E, along with its associated partners, offers services consultancy specializing in energy performance. These services can take place from the start of a new project with the inclusion of its environment for the implementation of renewable energy services, to the operation services with performance guarantee and its measurement in time.

MARKET STANDING :

All AMO or MOE services are aimed at both new construction and remodeling. They are complementary to conventional consultancy services for CVCS / HVAC and electricity. These transversal missions can be likened to a mission of commission on all technical body conditions.

Overview

These workshops/ advanced training , designed  for professionals holding of a CMVP certificate, have been developed to complete general knowledge and get credits: :

  1. a) Complete the general knowledge of M & V acquired during the internship EVO Level 3
  2. b) Enable students to get, where appropriate, credit for a three-year renewal of the CMVP.

Holders of valid CMVP or CMVP -IT. or equivalent level knowledge or experiences.

 These Measurement and verification advanced  training have been running for 3 years in Switzerland and France

4-hour workshops, including where appropriate : personal preparation and / or personal work validated after the course.  A full day training equivalent

They generally comprise coursework, followed by a tutorial portion. In some cases, depending on the themes , it is possible that the subject is spread over two or more sessions of 4 hours each.

CMVP

The CMVP certification is based on the use of the 2012 version of the International Protocol for the Measurement and Verification of Energy Performance (IPMVP).

Certification based on:

  1. Recognition of the skills of experts
  2. 2.5 days training covering in detail the concepts and practical approaches related to the development and implementation of plans for measurement and verification of performance of energy efficiency projects
  3. An exam (which allows recognition by the use of the title CMVP)

IPMVP

Protocol Overview

Training 1 : Introduction to IPMVP

Duration: 1 day

This presentation provides an understanding of the issues and principles to develop a plan for Measurement and Verification. It is targeted to policy makers project owners and Chief CPE projects.

Training 2 : IPMVP Level 3 certification option with CMVP

This course prepares students to review the optional CMVP (Certified Professional in M & V) which will take place on the third day following the course. It offers a full version of IPMVP application renovations, new buildings, and is therefore aimed at students who want a good level of expertise.
